Full BIO: Certified Financial Planner Colleen Bowler advocates for balance, generosity, and fun. She cofounded C&J Innovations to give financial professionals tools that let them expand client conversations beyond the financial realm into all areas of life.

Over the past 25 years, Colleen grew her financial planning practice, Strategic Wealth Partners, into a top Texas firm; co-authored a book, Generous Kids; and worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs through her work at Strategic Coach™ — all while making time for her extended family, friends, and a variety of nonprofits.

Colleen grew up with five siblings in a family filled with love, faith, independence, and activity. Unfortunately, Colleen’s father died when she was 16, leaving her mother with $187 in the bank and bringing Colleen face-to-face with the difficulties that many families face. That experience, coupled with becoming a single parent when her son was three, demonstrated the importance of solid financial advice — the kind of advice Colleen gives to her clients.

With C&J Innovations, Colleen and cofounder Jeanne Hurlbert, PhD share their experience with financial advisors to help them expand their conversations; bring increased value to prospects, clients, and the advisors themselves; and improve their results.

Broadcast BIO: Our guest today is survey expert and cofounder of C&J Innovations Dr. Jeanne Hurlbert. At C&J, Jeanne uses surveys to help financial advisors “read clients’ minds” to help them design and live the lives they really want. Welcome to the program, Jeanne.

Full BIO: Jeanne Hurlbert, Ph.D. is the cofounder of C&J Innovations, which gives financial professionals tools that let them improve their results by expanding client conversations beyond the financial realm into all areas of life.

She is also the founder of Hurlbert Consulting Group, before which Jeanne spent more than 25 years as a Louisiana State University professor, teaching hundreds of marketing and social science students how to use surveys to “read people’s minds” and directing the Louisiana Population Data Center Survey Research Lab. Today, Jeanne breaks the mold of traditional market research to help businesses use assessments and surveys to answer the two most important questions in business: what do customers want, and how well are businesses giving customers what they want?

Jeanne’s passion for the mission of C&J Innovations comes in part from having watched her father, a country banker, help local residents build houses for their families and secure their futures — sometimes when no other bank would “take a chance” on them. Through C&J, she and Colleen provide tools that enhance financial advisors’ ability to help their clients design and live the lives they really want.
